Job description
Chowgirls is seeking a highly collaborative creative for a Design Specialist role! As a key player on our expanding Marketing team, the Design Specialist will create compelling collateral to elevate our digital and physical brand presence based upon requests from clients and Chowgirls team members.
This role collaborates heavily with other members of the Marketing team and reports to the
Brand & Growth Manager.
GRAPHIC DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION
- Fulfill all design requests by the given deadline following standard operating procedures
- Create signs, menus, labels, and other print collateral for events and outreach efforts, and on some occasions, pick up these items from the printer
- Collaborate with the Brand & Growth Manager to further develop our visual brand language
- Collaborate with the Event Design & Sustainability Manager to create event collateral based upon a specific theme or vision
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist to create assets for social media and email marketing
- Monitor design trends, particularly in the food and beverage space
- On rare occasions, create illustrations to use within a larger design
COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION
- Actively participate in meetings with the Marketing Team and other teams
- Proactively and positively communicate with requesters throughout the design process
- Place orders for printed collateral
- Serve as the main point of contact for external vendors related to design, such as printers
- Collaborate with the Brand & Growth Manager to expand our network of design-related vendors, balancing monetary value and values alignment
DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
- Name, organize and package files in a consistent manner
Deliver files to printer in the proper format
- Collaborate with the Brand & Growth Manager to keep relevant channels (Dropbox, Google Drive, Canva, and more) organized following agreed upon conventions
COMMUNICATION
- Proactively communicate work and personal schedule through Slack
- Attend and actively participate in all required company meetings
- Respond to internal and external communications within 12 hours
- Present a professional positive attitude among coworkers, vendors, and clients
- Facilitate information flows throughout workplace
- Maintain availability for communication by phone, Slack, and email

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $25.00 - $28.00
