Job description

rhk is a small AAPI & woman owned catering and take out business located steps away from breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and other incredible sights! We are seeking a weekend cashier to manage the FOH operations. This role requires a very detail oriented person who is super friendly with guests and can handle periods of high volume as well as manage their time appropriately during down times.

Most tasks are related to customer service - menu knowledge, taking orders, upselling, handling cash and cc transactions, bagging up/delivering food & beverages when ready.

Catering tasks range from collecting serveware for orders and may include serving/bartending at events.

Sidework is straightforward, stickering lids and bags, light cleaning tasks, alignment and stocking of retail goods.

There is no espresso making or food prep in this role however we do have a preference for candidates that have this experience and wish to grow their skill sets in these areas as we are moving into our next phase of growth and will be offering a fuller food and beverage experience for guests in the next few months.

Shifts for the summer are Sat, Sun and Mondays - this is a mandatory requirement. We are a very small crew and there are very specific schedules arranged for each member so we cannot offer shift coverage at this time. Shifts are generally 10am-4/5pm. After the summer, when we move into our next phase of growth, (think all day cafe) there will be significant opportunities to grow and adjust schedules.

We also encourage candidates with graphic, floral, or interior design backgrounds (or other creative experience) to apply as we will need these services as we expand and would love to be able to support someone who grows with us!

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $16.50 - 20/hr
