POSITION OVERVIEW
The Industry Program Coordinator will lead program facilitation and provide key administrative support. This role, reporting to the Industry Program Manager and collaborating with a fellow Industry Program Coordinator, will lead the transfer school culinary program while coordinating across industry programs, being knowledgeable of hospitality industry trends, basic culinary lifeskills, and culinary and hospitality workforce ready skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute high school-level hospitality career readiness programs collaboratively with the FEF team across NYC
- Lead instruction of Culinary 101 and Advanced Culinary Internship courses on site in NYC Public Schools for non-traditional students aged 16-21
- Coordinate procuring supplies, program schedules, and day-to-day program logistics
- Ensure clear and timely communication in-person and via email/phone with all stakeholders and partners including: industry professionals, high school-aged students, and their school administrators
- Support development and implementation of program administrative systems including program playbooks and standard operating procedures
- Serve as communication lead for assigned partner schools
Continually enhance culinary-focused curricula including introductory level culinary exploration and workforce ready skill development
- Support other FEF programs onsite, including School Grounds at Barclays Center
- Enhance lasting relationships with school and industry leaders
Manage all data tracking through survey tools, Salesforce, or other CRMs in real-time
- Collaborate closely with fellow coordinator to achieve all program outcomes
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in culinary industry in a back of house (BOH) role, with advanced culinary skills and knowledge
- Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, foster collaboration, and mentor hospitality professionals at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including marginalized groups, and a commitment to creating inclusive environments.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to adopt new tools and technologies to optimize processes and service quality.
- Highly organized with excellent planning and facilitation abilities, focused on prioritizing tasks efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrate quick thinking, excellent communication, sound problem-solving techniques, and ability to work as a team player
- Familiarity with the Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Meet) and ability to use and effectively communicate via computer, email, and phone.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Experience facilitating interactive workshops for young adults or hospitality professionals and passion for developing the next generation of leaders
- Experience developing and implementing outcome-based curricula
- Experience in Salesforce or similar CRM
- Experience in Asana or similar project management software
WORK SCHEDULE
The Program Coordinator will be a full-time hybrid position, with a schedule to be determined in consultation with the leadership team. The role will be approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday commitments based on special events and travel within the 5 boroughs. All FEF employees must pass a complete background check in alignment with the DOE requirements prior to start date.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, within the range of $65,000-$68,000
BENEFITS
The Food Education Fund (FEF) offers all full-time employees a Health Insurance Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA), paid family leave and sick time, commuter benefits, and 401(k) matching contributions. All full-time employees are eligible for 22 paid vacation days per year for their first full year (prorated dependent on start date) as well as two (2) floating holidays.
