An ethical and agriculturally-centered manufacturing operation celebrating all things blackcurrant in the Hudson Valley. We produce botanical blackcurrant aperitif from ingredients sourced in the immediate vicinity of our winery/distillery in Rhinebeck, NY. Located on a 35 acre property and small farm, we also operate an intimate tasting room which opens to the public on weekends and is available for small event bookings, workshops, and art happenings throughout the week.
Job description
Looking for an experienced and inspired person to execute ordering, prep, cocktail menu, and bartending at our intimate tasting room bar and market space. Must love blackcurrants!
Working directly with C. Cassis Founder/Owner, this position is responsible for:
- Managing and executing Saturday and Sunday bar service at the C. Cassis Tasting room
- Understanding and communicating around all things cassis, specifically our process and methodology
- Preparing juices and garnish for a dynamic cocktail menu
- Ensuring all serviceware is maintained and stocked
- Sourcing and ordering an array of NY State beer, wine and spirits for the back bar and retail shelves
- Curating and ordering prepared/packaged goods, local charcuterie, cheeses and other NY-state made provisions for the tasting room shelves and small retail fridge
- Communicating with our production team to ensure CPG pars are met for the Tasting Room
- Maintaining SOPs for cleanliness and organization in all areas of the facility
- Creating and maintaining vendor relationships with a rotating schedule of pop-up chefs
- Responsible for updating Square POS with new items, proper pricing, maintaining margins and costs, printing menus, and generating fridge labels
- Scheduling/training additional staff when needed
We are looking for candidates who will feel a sense of warmth and ownership surrounding guest services onsite at C. Cassis.

Qualifications
Looking for someone with…
- Bartending and management experience
- The ability to work independently and self-sufficiently
- A love of craft spirits, flavor, and creativity
- Working knowledge of Square POS, spreadsheets, and basic Adobe Illustrator
- Excellent organization, email etiquette, and vendor management skills
- A passion about sustainability, fermentation and a vested interest in NY state agriculture
- Wine knowledge and service background
Schedule/Compensation:
- Approx. 30 hrs/week starting at $28/hr plus weekend tips
- Thurs/Fri 10a-4p
- Sat/Sun 12-9
- Additional hours and opportunities for candidates with event coordination experience
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
