The Opportunity: Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP), the national workforce development nonprofit, is looking to hire a Communications & Events Coordinator. This is a part-time, mostly remote position, reporting to the Director of Communications & Events.

About the Position: C•CAP is looking for an entry level candidate who is passionate about food and social impact and has an interest in marketing, communications, design, and content creation. As a Communications & Events Coordinator, you will work closely with the C•CAP national team and take part in building national and regional fundraising campaigns and events as well as developing content for social media. This position is based in New York City and mostly remote. The Communications and Events Coordinator will support our national team at 20 hours per week starting September 2025. You will report directly to the Director of Communications & Events.
Essential Functions:
Social Media
- Assist the Communications Director with strategic content planning, along with scheduling and posting.
- Ideate video content that supports our event marketing and programming initiatives.
- Edit reels and photographs for social that align with C•CAP’s brand look & feel.
- Monitor social pages, including responding to comments and direct messages, and tracking community content.
- Support the posting, tracking, analysis, and reporting of social media metrics.
Events & Administrative
- Maintain C•CAP’s event pages, including copy edits and sponsor logos.
- Update event design assets, particularly event programs, signage and presentations.
- Attend C•CAP’s fundraising and programming events to capture photo and video content on social media.
- Collect event assets, such as photos and logos, for donor acknowledgement on social, website, event materials
- Assist C•CAP’s event auction, such as creating promotional materials
- Track C•CAP’s media coverage.
- Assist with organizational tasks like maintaining Canva, routinely uploading event and program photography to Google Photos, and cross-checking the receipt of donors forms, etc.
- Work on other communications tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong writing skills
- Interest in marketing, communications, and the food and hospitality industry
- Have a deep grasp of content creation for Instagram and TikTok. Experience with Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Canva, Adobe and
- Wordpress is highly beneficial.
- While this position is mostly remote, on occasion, you may need to attend special events or photo shoots based in NYC.
- Able to commit to 20 hours/week and be able to work for a block of 3-4 hours at a time during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $17.00 - $22.00
