Job description
Rancho Gordo is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Retail Lead to support daily store operations and help create a welcoming, educational shopping experience. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Retail Supervisor to guide the team, delegate tasks, and ensure a smooth, efficient workflow. Whether you’re assisting customers, preparing samples, or sharing product knowledge, you’ll play a key role in upholding our standards and values on the sales floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Customer Engagement: Provide exceptional service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, sharing product knowledge, and occasionally assisting with group tours and events.
• Team Support & Leadership: Foster a positive work environment by setting a strong example, supporting team members, and encouraging collaboration and professionalism.
• Task Delegation: Assist with managing daily workflow by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and addressing issues as they arise.
• Store Presentation: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space in accordance with company merchandising standards.
• Inventory Support: Help receive and process deliveries, manage stock levels, and keep inventory areas well-organized and accurate.
• Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Accurately handle customer transactions, process payments, and assist with opening and closing procedures when needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 2+ years of experience in a retail or customer service lead role
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication—both verbal and written
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence using POS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Weekend availability is required
• Familiarity with specialty food or culinary retail is a plus
Additional Information
This is a leadership role, though it does not include direct reports. Instead, you’ll play a key part in guiding day-to-day operations and supporting team performance on the floor.
