Job description
Location: HYBRID FULL-TIME in-office and remote work. Warehouse and office located in Warrenton, VA 20187
Salary range: $53,000 - $56,000
The Procurement Manager is responsible for category management and working with vendors to supply 4P’s product assortment. The Procurement Manager is responsible for ensuring availability of product flow to ensure 4P Foods can serve their customers with a solid supply throughout the year. Managing supply along with product quality, the Procurement Manager is responsible for understanding market pricing and general pricing strategies relating to economies of scales. The Procurement Manager is responsible for conducting effective and accurate data analysis and interpretation that is used to directly inform purchasing decisions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Works with vendors on a weekly basis to plan purchasing volumes and negotiate the pricing of products required.
● Places POs as required ensuring vendor order deadlines are met and product is in the 4P warehouse at the time needed.
● Forecasts and plans volumes with vendors to ensure the availability of product.
● Collaborates with other departments to ensure new products are marketed and launched correctly.
● Works consistently with Logistics Manager to ensure pricing reflects the best option of delivering or picking up product.
● Prepares and presents market conditions and product cost reports.
● Drafts, explains and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
● Resolves grievances with vendors and ensures product issues are reported to vendors and credited in a timely manner.
● Builds Procurement systems, databases, and reports to standardize purchasing processes.
● Generates reports and analyzes relevant data to inform purchasing decision-making.
● Monitors supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with standards.
● Responsible for seeking out new vendors that align with 4P Food’s sourcing strategies.
● Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.
● Manage the critical path from product sourcing to launch.
● Demonstrate an ability to challenge the status quo and always bring your own ideas.
● Be confident in building and maintaining new and existing relationships with suppliers.
● Drive to succeed and deliver outstanding results.
● Work as part of a team but be equally happy when working independently on your categories.
● Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree and/or at least three years of experience in a related field required.
● Minimum 1 year’s experience with Procurement/Purchasing in food and beverage or other wholesale food purchasing.
● Must be 18 years or older.
Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
● Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
● Occasional local travel to vendor sites and farms.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
