This is a great position for those with previous restaurant experience who love an active and social work environment (and maybe don't want to work those late nights!) OR those with previous experience selling at outdoor farmer's markets (and want the luxury of working indoors!)
As a Shift Leader you will work alongside the Market Managers and our retail staff to help oversee the daily operations of the Farm Market.
Job Responsibilities:

Check-in all deliveries for accuracy, label and best by date all incoming boxes of product in order to keep our inventory room clean and organized - stock incoming inventory on display, and update product pricing signage in the store/in the Point of Sales system as necessary.
- Must work well with others - we work as a team in order to take care of all the daily operations of running the market. As a member of the market staff you will work alongside our market managers, retail staff and farm crew. Assist in keeping our market staff on task and updating a running to-list as items come in from the farm fields or delivered to the market.
- Maintain knowledge of seasonal produce along with learning about the additional products we sell, most of which are sourced from local farms in the Northeast.

- Closing the market: putting away/storing fresh produce in our walk-in cooler at the end of the day. End of day cleaning of the store including dusting, sweeping, and mopping. Light restocking of inventory for the next day, taking note of any low inventory.
The Ideal Candidate:
Our ideal person is someone who has a genuine interest in food & farming; enjoys an active, social work environment; and can work well with others in a team setting.
- 1 season of farming/and or farmers market experience or 1 year of experience in retail sales. Ideally we are looking for someone with some previous experience directing/ managing others, but are willing to train on this skillset.
