MITCH Charter School is hiring an Agriculture Teacher to lead our well-established Seed-to-Table program. We are looking for an educator who can combine strong instructional practices with hands-on, outdoor learning. The right candidate is organized, equity-minded, and committed to supporting student growth through engaging, standards-based agriculture education.

Responsibilities
The Agriculture Teacher works alongside the specialist team and classroom teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that:
- Are aligned to our Indigenous Seed Rematriation curriculum
Connect agricultural practices to NGSS-aligned science content and grade-level Core Knowledge topics
- Support social-emotional learning, cultural identity, and teamwork
- Include meaningful hands-on experiences in gardening, cooking, nature journaling, and more
- Reflect best practices in classroom management and equitable instruction
- Involve students in fieldwork, observation, and collaborative projects
- The role also includes maintaining communication with families and partnering with other staff to support a positive and consistent school culture.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in education, agriculture, environmental science, or related field
- Valid Oregon teaching license (or ability to apply for a charter registry one before start date)
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom, build relationships with students, and work collaboratively on a team
- Willingness to learn, reflect, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Preferred
- Master's degree in education or agriculture/science endorsement
- Experience teaching at the elementary level
- Familiarity with restorative practices, culturally responsive instruction, and trauma-informed care
- Background in sustainable agriculture, food systems, or environmental education

Compensation
