OMF sits on 65 acres of beautiful mountain land in Ojai, California. We are tucked away off the beaten path, with a lovely expansive view of the Pacific Ocean, The Channel Islands, and the Topa Topa mountains. The farm is conveniently located 20-25 minutes drive from downtown. We are four years into f›arming this land and have turned 3.5 acres into mixed orchards and an acre into two mixed vegetable gardens. We also have 2 sweet farm dogs and a small chicken coop. We farm using a combination of organic, permaculture and regenerative methods. We strive to farm in a way that maintains the natural ecosystem that surrounds us. Our goal is to provide delicious healthful produce to our market/deli in downtown Ojai opening October 2025.

Job description

This is a LIVE-ON position. We provide a lovely tiny home on farm.

We are looking for someone who has a great attitude, loves this type of work and communicates well with a team and with the farm director.

Experience with orchards and soil fertility/compost required.

This position consists of 70% hours needed to run the orchards and 30% hours needed to assist our gardens lead.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Planning, supervising and executing daily orchard operations such as irrigation, pest and disease control, fertilizer applications, mulching, planting, pruning and harvesting
• Maintaining orchard health through regenerative and sustainable practices
• Developing and implementing orchard management strategies
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the farm equipment
• Record Keeping - maintaining detailed records of orchard data
• SAP and soil analysis data collection of fruit trees/soil yearly
• Able to maintain our pre-existing compost/fertility systems as well as build upon them if necessary
• Ability to connect with our Gardens Manager daily to coordinate goals and task distribution
• Able to operate farm vehicles (tractor, Polaris, farm truck, etc.)
• Perform manual labor and must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Care for animals (farm dogs and 12 laying hens)

This position is salaried with PTO along with paid holidays. Salary is dependent on experience level.

We are open to your partner living on farm with you (As a reminder, it is tiny home so it is a smaller living space)

Compensation

this position is: salaried, $68,640 - $75,000
