Job description
Role Summary
The Runner is responsible for ensuring food orders are delivered to the correct tables quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high level of service. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Runner ensures guests receive their meals in a timely manner and supports the team by maintaining smooth operations between the kitchen and the dining area.
The Specifics
-Deliver food and beverages to the appropriate tables in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation guidelines are met.
-Confirm that all food orders are correct before delivering them to guests.
-Communicate effectively with the kitchen to ensure orders are prepared and served in a timely manner.
-Assist servers with placing food orders, ensuring that special requests and dietary needs are communicated to the kitchen.
-Ensure all orders are presented with the proper garnishes, condiments, and sides.
-Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.
-Support the front-of-house team by restocking supplies, cleaning and resetting tables, and assisting with general dining room organization.
-Assist in ensuring the restaurant environment remains clean and organized, including the dining area, corridors, and service stations.
-Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with guests and teammates.
-Report any guest issues or concerns to the management team promptly for resolution.
-Assist with the organization and delivery of special event orders when needed.
-Follow all health and safety guidelines, including maintaining proper food handling and cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
-Be a team player, which includes performing and completing any other duties or responsibilities assigned by managers in a timely and professional manner.
-Be a motivated self-starter and able to work efficiently and respectfully.

Experience & Qualifications
-Previous experience in a food service or customer-facing role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
-Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Ability to carry trays and lift heavy items when necessary.
-Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the restaurant.
-A positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong commitment to guest experience.
-Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
-"Guest-first" mindset.
-Ability to read, write, and speak English. Other languages preferred.
