Job description
Join our team of progressive Teaching Kitchen innovators at FamilyCook Productions. We are an award-winning non-profit organization providing highly effective, innovative turn-key programs for pre-K through adult. We disseminate edible nutrition education to schools, farms and community organizations, teaching kitchens in hospitals and large corporations nationwide. We conduct research on our innovative strategies in collaboration with Columbia University’s Teachers College, University of Vermont, Einstein College of Medicine and other institutions across the US.
Position Description:
The Culinary Nutrition Program Manager position works 40 hours per week Monday – Friday schedule in a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have culinary experience plus program and project management experience. This is a client interaction and program manager position that is critical to the daily operations of the agency. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and enjoys interacting with a diverse group of clients, dietetic interns and youth.
This position is ideal for someone with culinary/nutrition skills interested to segue into non-profit management and culinary nutrition education and research. Should be passionate about food and cooking, comfortable in a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly, and excited to help build a strong, fun, team-centered environment.
Self-motivation and a positive, can-do attitude are essential for this role that could become a springboard to other roles. Our past employees have gone on to high level positions in test kitchens, editorial departments and Ivy League level academia in nutrition, from our tutelage. The Culinary Program Manager will report directly to the Founder.
Requirements:
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Basic culinary skills, professional training a plus
- Health conscious and nutrition knowledgeable
- Lively, outgoing personality
- Strong computer skills, especially with Mac OS, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Experience in using AI tools for productivity and efficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Close attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and deliver in a timely manner
- Great attitude & team player
- Proficient in online content management systems such as Wordpress, and Constant Contact
- Some experience with social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn
- Proficiency with Photoshop, video editing Software or Illustrator is a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
- Client onboarding, including cost/invoice info, licensing, supervising equipment ordering/shipping items for all program and overall client relations.
- Manages organization’s nutrition education programs, including training dates, delivery and maintenance of programs and client interface.
- Leads planning and support of program events and projects.
- Participates in development and refinement of culinary nutrition education curriculum.
- Occasionally may host live cooking classes for all age groups .
- Performs occasional recipe development and recipe testing.
- Supports Communications role as needed, including with special reports
- Supports preceptors to engage dietetic interns assignments/projects as needed
- Assists in grant and client proposals as needed for proofing, recommendations
- Assists in research and evaluation of culinary nutrition education programs. Supporting the FCP founder with daily tasks and projects
- Be quick to learn cutting-edge software used for creating distance-learning training modules
- Occasional administrative support
Compensation – Full-time position with some flexibility, delicious lunch provided daily. Rate is negotiable. If it falls below the exempt salary minimum then it will be a non-exempt role. If it is above, it will be exempt.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $50,000.00 - $70,000.00
