SUPPLY Bulk Foods is Boston’s first online, plastic-free, dry bulk food store that carries over 200 products, many locally owned suppliers, fair trade, organic and ethically sourced foods, such as grains, spices, beans, coffee, snacks, chocolate, nuts, dried fruits, baking essentials, accessories, etc.

Our mission is to teach people to live plastic free, making it easy, while helping to alleviate Massachusetts' food insecurity issues.

SUPPLY’s model is one where, instead of high delivery fees and traffic ridden travel to a store, orders are placed online and then picked up locally at a partnered business in their neighborhood (20 partnered businesses in Eastern MA so far…).

Job description

We are looking for a part-time business manager to join our team as we continue to grow.

Description: Business manager will assist the founder with office tasks including:

• Researching products and suppliers
• Financial sheets
• Social media management
• Business documentation including assisting in applying for grants
• Reviewing resumes and interviewing kitchen staff as needed
• Representing the company via email and phone
• part-time, 15-20 hours per week

This is a hybrid role - remote work can be done on your own schedule, with occasional kitchen visits to learn kitchen processes/operations. While this is a hybrid role, applicant must be local to the Boston Area.

Qualifications:

• A passion for the environment, with a knowledge of and interest in plastic waste issues, green initiatives, sustainable food systems, and food justice.
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and tasks in a remote setting
• Problem solving & able to think outside of the box a plus
• Experience with Xero, Canva, Google Workspace and Shopify a plus
• Good communication skills, willing and able to ask questions
• Tech savvy
• Works well with others

Compensation:

Hourly pay commensurate with experience, plus an employee discount. Range: $22-$25 per hour.
