Maitri Farm is seeking a skilled and motivated Vegetable Program Field Manager to help support our certified organic vegetable production program.
We are a diversified market farm in Dutchess County, NY, just a two-hour train ride from NYC. Our 106-acre property includes 10 acres of Certified Organic vegetables, cut flowers, and fruit, serving our community through CSA shares, farm store sales, wholesale, and restaurant accounts.
At Maitri Farm, we value craftsmanship, efficiency, and kindness. We’re looking for someone passionate about sustainable agriculture and skilled in leading a small, focused team to grow exceptional organic vegetables for our community.

ABOUT THE WORK
The work at Maitri Farm is physically demanding yet deeply rewarding. You’ll take part in nearly every aspect of production and sales — from planting seeds to packing boxes to sharing harvests with our community.

• Packing CSA boxes and fulfilling wholesale or retail orders
• Preparing bouquets and assisting with flower production
• Habitat restoration and infrastructure projects
• Occasional local deliveries
We value teamwork, communication, and curiosity. You’ll gain firsthand experience in running a sustainable, mixed-production farm — an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in learning organic agriculture through hands-on experience.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate:
• Is self-motivated, efficient, dependable, and kind
• Brings a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for sustainable farming
• Can stay focused during repetitive tasks and adapt quickly to fast-paced situations
• Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Is physically capable of lifting at least 50 lbs and working on their feet all day
• Has strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Works well independently and collaboratively
• Values long-term growth — we love when crew members return for multiple seasons!
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Starting wage: $17/hr+ (commensurate with experience)
• Benefits:
- Paid holidays and PTO
- Weekly take-home veggies and flowers
- Growth opportunities in flower production, team leadership, and assistant management roles for motivated individuals

• Trial period: 4 weeks; year-round work available for high-performing crew members
• Weekend work: One Saturday/month, June - October, for Farm Stand staffing and occasionally required during peak harvests
• Transportation: Due to limited public transit, reliable vehicle access and a valid driver’s license are strongly preferred
• Background check required for final applicants (this role interacts with sensitive materials and vulnerable populations)
