Company description
Nestled along the scenic banks of the Hudson River at 385 South Riverside Avenue in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, The Hudson Oven is a beloved artisan bakery and café born from a passion for slow-fermented sourdough and community-driven culinary experiences. Founded by husband-and-wife team Chase Fox Harnett and Madison Harnett, this gem traces its roots to 2016.
Today, The Hudson Oven has evolved into a brick-and-mortar sanctuary that opened in October 2023, blending Chase's mastery of long-fermentation sourdough with Madison's inventive flair for savory and sweet comforts. Specializing in crusty, flavorful loaves crafted exclusively from organic, freshly milled grains sourced from regional mills like Farmer Ground Flour, the bakery emphasizes sustainability and local sourcing. Their ever-rotating menu extends far beyond bread to include hearty soups, stews, roasts, fresh salads, dips, and seasonal baked goods.
More than a bakery, The Hudson Oven is a vibrant hub for connection, offering weekly pre-orders, convenient pickup lockers throughout Westchester, and occasional scavenger hunts to keep the spirit of discovery alive. In a world of mass-produced eats, The Hudson Oven reminds us that the best meals—and memories—are handmade, one loaf at a time.
