Company description
Pidgin Cooperative Restaurant & Bottle Shop (Pidgin Co-op) is a worker-owned cooperative built on the principles of integrity, equity and sustainability.
Pidgin Co-op’s mission is to create sustainable and enriching jobs for its Members and employees in the food industry. This is accomplished through the operation of a restaurant and bottle shop, and other food industry endeavors, collectively run by its Members. New employees are encouraged to work towards Membership.
Our kitchen is grounded in comfort food with a Pan-Asian twist, and highlights fermented foods, food-waste reduction and seasonal ingredients from our local farm partners.
Job description
We are seeking friendly and communicative Front of House staff to join our team. Our front of house staff are cross trained among all our roles (register, beverage, serving, bussing, dishes, expo) and help us maintain an open line of communication between both our customers and kitchen staff. Ideally you are someone who is friendly, treats everyone with equal kindness, and leads from a place of generosity and curiosity.
How We Work

Varied Workflow: Your work can be diverse, ranging from rotating through roles in our daily restaurant service to representing our co-op at off-site catering events and private parties.
Shared Tasks: Bussing and dishwashing is a shared responsibility that all team members will take part in. We all step in to ensure our collective workspace runs smoothly and stays clean.
An Accessible Path to Ownership:
We are dedicated to making ownership achievable. After a short probationary period, you will be eligible to begin your journey to membership.
Work Requirement: 2,000 hours of service (approximately one year of full-time work).
Owner Investment: A $1,000 investment over time to purchase your ownership share.
Flexible Payment: **We also offer a payroll deduction plan that allows you to contribute toward your $1,000 buy-in during your employment, even before you reach the 2,000-hour mark.** Our intention is to make the path to ownership financially manageable.
Upon becoming a member-owner, you will share in profits, have a vote in co-op decisions, and will help shape our future.
