Job description

Electric Beets: A Plant-Based Grab & Go Restaurant
Location: 158 7th Avenue, Suite B, Brooklyn, New York 11215
Please check your commute to ensure it is no more than ~45 minutes

Schedule: 6:15am - 2:30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday & 11am - 7pm Monday, Tuesday
Employment Type: Full-Time
Starting Pay: $18/hour to start, commensurate with experience. + your share of the tip pool

PRIMARY DUTIES OF PREP COOK:

• Have a basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
• Organize, date, label and rotate fresh produce when received from deliveries & throughout the day
• Follow recipes as directed, always asking questions for clarification as needed
• Thoroughly wash & cut vegetables as directed
• Label, date and properly store prepped food
• Be willing to learn and maintain food safety practices to keep a sanitary kitchen
• Communicate with all members of the team (running out of product, identifying items needed for ordering, identifying issues with produce/food)
• Be willing to take and give direction
• Work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Be able to spend 100% of the time working while standing
• Lift a minimum of 30 pounds while climbing stairs
• Must be available to work weekends.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $16.50 - 20/hr
