Job description
We are seeking a Private Chef to join our growing team, focused on weekly in-home meal prep services for our clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about healthy, delicious food presented beautifully!
Responsibilities
Weekly Meal Preparation:
Plan, prep, cook, and package 3–5 client-specific meals (typically 3 entrees plus breakfast/snack/dessert add-ons) in clients’ homes.
Menu Execution:
Follow menus designed by Curated Kitchen or collaborate on new seasonal ideas while adhering to each client’s dietary preferences, allergies, and restrictions.
Ingredient Management:
Review FreshDirect or local grocery orders in advance; ensure all ingredients are organized and ready for each session. Take weekly inventory of clients ingredients.
Cooking & Storage:
Execute meals efficiently with professional technique, ensuring proper cooling, labeling, and packaging of all dishes.
Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a spotless workspace during and after service, leaving clients’ kitchens cleaner than found.
Client Interaction:
Represent Curated Kitchen with professionalism, warmth, and discretion. Communicate clearly and positively with clients about meal instructions and preferences.
Documentation:
Submit weekly notes, menu photos, and feedback to Curated Kitchen management to ensure consistency and quality control.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years professional culinary experience, preferably in fine dining, meal prep, or private chef work.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, seasonality, and dietary cooking (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc.).
- Ability to execute menus independently, with attention to taste, texture, and presentation.
- Excellent time management and organization skills — able to complete full meal prep within 3-5 hours.
- Willingness to travel across Manhattan, Brooklyn & LIC.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and respectful demeanor in clients’ homes.
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate (NYC DOH) strongly preferred.
Compensation Structure
Curated Kitchen operates on a tiered structure to support training, consistency, and growth:
Training Period: 30% of client rate (typically first 2–3 sessions under supervision)
Solo Chef Rate: 70% of client rate once fully trained and cleared to cook independently + $20 per client for administrative work (menu planning and grocery orders)
Per-session rate based on clients meal plan.
Opportunities for additional private dinner or event shifts.
