Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
Regional Managers strategically manage relationships with their teams, our principals, and regional retail and distributor partners in order to achieve organizational objectives. They lead the charge in making our partners raving fans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coach, and develop their regional team members to ensure they are continuously learning, improving, and contributing to the overall goals of YYN.
- Lead training of new team members within your regions in all aspects of the job: field training, brand knowledge and management, account management, and training on YYN systems.
- Be an expert in the lines YYN represents. Know their business as well as they do.
- Be the primary point of contact for all brands in their regions: develop positive and trusting relationships with brands. Be proactive instead of reactive.
- Strategize and advise the team on account objectives and opportunities to grow business within the team’s individual accounts and territories as a whole.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for our principals to increase sales and strengthen their brands. This includes branding/positioning recommendations, promotional strategy, channel strategy, growth strategy. Join brand strategy calls as needed as an additional form of support and insight for our key brands.
- Maintain awareness of, and report on, efforts by our Principals’ competitors in regards to: new items, pricing, packaging, strategic direction, etc.
- Be the secondary point of contact for Key Retailers; help Territory Managers grow and strengthen their relationships with buyers. Responsible for overseeing and managing any vacant accounts during team transitions.
- Collaborate with YYN leadership team to generate ideas for growing our Principals’ business and make suggestions for improvement.
- Collaborate with YYN leadership team to think of ways to continuously improve ourselves, our service to our Principals, and the well-being of our team members.
- Explore opportunities for the development and growth of all channels (natural, conventional supermarket, foodservice, etc.).

MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES:
- Proactive & Regular Communication: Ongoing and timely communication with YYN team and principals. Prioritize responding to principals within 24 hours.
Team Management and Guidance:
- Consistent 1:1 calls with each team member in your regions on a bi-weekly basis, at minimum.
- Conduct regular ride-alongs and account review meetings with the regional team to provide guidance and support.
- Provide real time feedback to team members, ensure weekly schedules are submitted, and discuss performance in yearly conversations.
- Oversee and support the team with overall account maintenance and organization - promotional calendars (planning, execution, upkeep), APLs, category review schedules, and Market Overview recaps.
- Lead weekly team calls to manage achievement of objectives and initiatives.
- Develop and recommend strategic/sound promotional plans for principals.
- For Key Accounts: Present and receive buyer approval for new lines/SKUs. Prepare and submit New Items Forms, and work with KAC to ensure Distributor and Retail Promotions are submitted accurately and on-time. Lead by example with your Account Management.
- Regular check-ins referencing OKR’s and discuss successes, challenges, and brainstorm opportunities with supervisor.
- Identify and evaluate new line/brand opportunities.
Secure prime placement: eye level, endcap, added facings, multiple locations. Send "Before and After" pictures of improved sets.
- Uphold Yin Yang Naturals social and environmental values, including prioritizing 40 hours of volunteer work per year, buying local whenever possible, and being environmentally conscious in-home office setup and travel decisions in the field.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
Requires persistence, consistency, and ability to meet regional sales objectives.
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with technology and capable of learning new skills quickly.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a working, fully insured vehicle and be able to travel independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently and crouch or kneel for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Office days require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
COVERAGE AREA:
- Key Accounts and Territory to be determined. Quarterly visits throughout the PNW region for team member ride-alongs.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
- Reports to National Director: Team Management
SALARY RANGE:
- $65,000 to $97,900, depending on experience.
