Fruitstitute is a tight knit tree-loving outfit that blends arborist and orcharding practices to care for residential clients' fruit trees in the backyards of Los Angeles.

As strong believers in the power of both soil and trees, we take a holistic approach to fruit tree care. We hand make our own compost, compost tea, and mulch to feed every tree we see, and only use treatments we'd be comfortable taking a bath in. Yeah, we're those kinda people.

No matter the fruit tree, we prune, feed, and plant! We have a simple purpose in life, and that's to make sure no one in LA ever has to buy lemons.

Job description

Love trees, fruit, and getting your hands dirty? Then this is the job for you! We're looking for someone passionate about working with the earth and its woody inhabitants, who loves being outside, and is able to lift up to 50+ lbs.

This position is for Grounds Crew work, which includes:

• Loading/unloading trucks
• Compost and mulching fruit trees
• Spraying trees (w/ our in house compost tea of course)
• Tree trimming cleanup
• Planting
• Tree staking
• Assisting with pruning of trees

This position will also work with our landscape compost tea service arm of our company, Compost Teana. That work involves:

• Loading up the trucks and filling the sprayer with tea
• Driving to client properties and applying tea according to job specs
• Communicating with clients/office if there are any changes

If you're looking for part-time work with full-time work potential (seasonal dependent), you're in the right place! We're looking for individuals who can make themselves available 4-5 days a week, with flexibility regarding what days you'd like to work.

No experience required but always appreciated, we're seeking enthusiasm for trees and working with your hands. An ideal candidate shows a strong work ethic, loves physical work and displays lots of initiative (initiative is key!).

Pay starts at $20/hr which increases as skills progress. This role will start with a 3 week paid trial period so both you and us can see if this position is the best fit for you.

Work is slow during the Summer months and picks up in Winter so we are looking to officially hire just in time for the Winter months.

Have a truck you're comfortable using on the job? Amazing! We compensate for use with the current IRS gas/mileage stipend. Having a drivers license is a requirement for this position.
