Line Cook – Job Description
Position: Line Cook
Location: The Pink House (or insert location)
Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about great food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and maintains high standards of quality and consistency. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items to exact specifications, maintaining a clean and organized station, and working collaboratively to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the workstation and kitchen.
Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
Assist with prep work (cutting, chopping, marinating, etc.) as needed.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to management.
Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes.
Maintain a sense of urgency and efficiency during busy service hours.
Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing storage areas.
Qualifications
Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Positive attitude, reliability, and dedication to teamwork.
