Job description
Qualifications:
Experience supervising and training a team of more than 5 people
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Commercial food production experience
Able to do physically demanding and repetitive work for a full 8-hour shift
Ability to manage several tasks at once and to effectively problem solve
Solution seeking and adaptable to change
Strong attention to detail
Good computer skills
Responsibilities include:
Oversee day-to-day operations in the kitchen
Create and implement production goals with the Production Manager
Supervise and train Production Assistants and Assistant Kitchen Supervisors, creating an environment of safety and respect
Ensure that production staff remain safe, injury-free, and are properly trained in any tasks they perform
Ensure food safety standards and good manufacturing processes are followed
Ensure that all product sold is safe and of the highest quality
Ensure that production data is tracked and recorded accurately
Work with Production Manager on systems improvement and mechanization projects
Participate in all aspects of production, including preparing fresh vegetables for fermentation and packaging finished product
Compensation and Benefits
$23/hour
Paid time off benefit, SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with 3% company match, employer-sponsored health insurance plan available (for 36+ hour/week schedule)
Eligibility after one year to become a worker-owner in our co-op
