Petee's Pie Company is based on a simple concept: make the best pie money can buy using real ingredients. We make our pies using seasonal local produce and natural fair-trade sweeteners. Our crust is made with organic flour and grass-fed butter from New York State. We make them all from scratch on-site and bake them fresh throughout the day. Petee's Pie Company, home of "NYC's Absolute Best Pie" according to New York Magazine, is in search of energetic, enthusiastic bakers and cooks to work at our LES pie shop. Must have relevant professional experience preparing food in a bakery, restaurant, or café.
Job description
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position starting at $21/hour with the possibility of overtime. Medical, dental, vision and commuter benefits available.
Requirements:
-weekend and holiday availability.
-ability to carry 50 lb up stairs
-relevant food service experience
-NYC Food Handler's Certificate (or ability to obtain one upon hiring)
-ability to work efficiently under pressure
-ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace
-ability to communicate fluidly with coworkers and handle feedback constructively
Responsibilities include:
-taking inventory and creating production list for the day
-mixing and sheeting dough
-preparing pie fillings
-preparing and decorating icebox pies
-filling and baking pies
-clear communication with coworkers and management
-cleaning tasks such as dishwashing, organizing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash and recycling
-receiving deliveries and putting away (this includes heavy lifting, such as unloading 40-50 lb boxes from the company van)
Hours:
-Four to five day work week includes two consecutive week days off. (Current schedule runs Wednesday-Sunday, 7am-3pm.)
-This is a full time position with potential for overtime
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
