Assistant Warehouse Manager

Chowgirls Catering is seeking an organized, hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in leading our warehouse operations, event logistics, equipment management, and staff coordination. This role ensures our teams, vehicles, equipment, and warehouse spaces are ready to support exceptional events every day.
Role Overview
The Assistant Warehouse Manager helps oversee daily workflow, staff, event fulfillment, fleet readiness, and warehouse systems. This includes attending operational meetings, managing equipment pulls, maintaining facility standards, training staff, coordinating expo and delivery needs, and supporting cross-department communication. This role also carries responsibilities outlined in the Warehouse Staff and Warehouse Lead job descriptions.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
Maintain strong communication with kitchen, sales, equipment, managers, and other departments to support seamless event execution.
Participate in ALT and operational meetings and help identify opportunities for improvement.
Code and submit receipts/invoices within 24 hours; utilize company software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, TPP, Nowsta, Ramp).
Ensure all warehouse spaces comply with MN health department regulations.
Keep warehouse organized, clean, and safe; support add-on events and operational updates.
Respond promptly and professionally to work-related communications.
Staff Leadership
Schedule warehouse staff weekly via Nowsta, aligning staffing with workload and labor KPIs.
Monitor hours, correct discrepancies, and submit payroll and sick/safe time.
Redirect workloads to prevent overtime when possible.
Train and support new hires using the CG Passport System; partner with Leads on daily task lists and priorities.
Ensure accurate and timely equipment pulls; oversee expo activities and workflow.
Provide coaching, set expectations, identify performance issues, and issue warnings as needed.
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of warehouse team members.
Event Support
Translate event details from Packet Meetings, TPP, and department communications into accurate equipment fulfillment.
Ensure all pulls align with Chowgirls’ aesthetic, timelines, and sustainability goals.
Support loading/unloading of vehicles and assist with pick-ups and deliveries as needed.
Maintain expo times, daily timelines, and Warehouse Google Calendar accuracy.
Partner with Warehouse Manager, Event Producer, Event Design, and CCO to uphold buffet and service design standards.
Oversee coffee/tea ordering and work with vendor on quality control and calibration.
Equipment & Space Management
Prioritize cost, sustainability, and CG values when recommending or purchasing equipment.
Oversee equipment repair, replacement, and inventory accuracy.
Maintain event kits and documentation for systems that ensure equipment returns clean, functional, and complete.
Manage layout and organization of warehouse, pods, and storage units.
Collaborate with Facilities Manager to maintain grounds, docks, and walkways.
Coordinate rental pickups/deliveries and ensure proper dishware flow with the dish department.
Fleet Management
Assist in assigning vehicles weekly and assessing rental needs.
Maintain vehicle logs and ensure regular cleaning and maintenance.
Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and downtime around the event schedule.
Support Fleet Safety Program implementation and secure parking permits/hooded meters with municipalities.
Job Requirements
Valid driver’s license
DOT Certification (or ability to obtain)
Ability to lift 50 lbs, use ladders, and stand for 8+ hours
Experience in events, service, warehouse, or logistics preferred
Strong multitasking skills and ability to work independently
Ability to balance big-picture needs with attention to detail
Communication Expectations

Participate in required meetings and maintain a positive, professional presence with coworkers, clients, and vendors.

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $52,000.00 - $56,000.00
