Peak Season is seeking a highly motivated operations professional who has intimate knowledge of farming and food systems in the Northeast. The Distribution Manager plays a pivotal, versatile role in order fulfillment for all of Peak Season’s wholesale customers.
Who You’ll Be Working With:
The Distribution Manager is primarily based at our sister company, Daybreak Growers Alliance, warehouse in Unity, Maine with reporting to Peak Season’s office in Belfast also required. Daybreak’s Operations Manager will serve as a key day to day collaborator, most directly overlapping with Daybreak’s team on receiving, inventory management and loading trucks for daily routes. Peak Season’s Sales and Marketing Director will work closely with this position on order fulfillment and customer communication. Additionally, Peak Season works in partnership with a wide range of local businesses, nonprofits, community organizers and local food enthusiasts this position will interact with as we work to grow and strengthen the local food community and economy further.
LOCATION
Based in Unity, Maine, with reporting requirements to Peak Season’s Belfast based location. Applicants should be able to report to both locations on a weekly basis. Headquarters may shift to primarily Belfast based on warehousing development and needs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with a team of peers as well as independent work.
Physically fit and comfortable with bending, lifting and repetitive tasks, including work in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
Dependable, reliable and able to plan forward.
SKILLS
Demonstrable experience in the following: produce distribution, warehouse management, purchasing and sales administrative assistance, inventory management.
Very comfortable using a variety of computer software programs.
Office management skills including familiarity with Quickbooks, Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Suite.
Ability to lift 50lb+.
Clean driving record required to fulfill job duties and very comfortable driving multiple types of non-CDL delivery vehicles.
Clear communication skills and ability to problem solve.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
This position leads the day to day tasks and development and improvements of our operational systems, including;
Order Fulfillment: Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment for our wholesale customers
Inventory Management: Updates and maintains weekly wholesale inventory, alerting appropriate team members to pertinent information and fielding requests from the team on inventory needs.
Quality Control: Responsible for ensuring quality of inventory and products shipped.
Purchasing: Supervises purchasing needs for Peak Season.
Route Management and Deliveries: Schedule and disseminate all route information. 50%+ of this position’s role in the first 12 months will be on the road making deliveries to wholesale customers.
Communication: works with sales and operations team members to ensure communication between customer service, warehouse and drivers.

Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
