Job description
GARDEN SPECIALIST - Help us maintain our gardens and allow them to thrive and yield abundantly! The work for this new position entails:
- Maintenance of edible landscapes, food forests, fruit trees, flower gardens, medicinal herb gardens, native plants etc.
- Maintenance and installation of raised beds for growing food.
- Weeding, mulching, adding compost, pruning, gardening and general plant care.
- Planting trees, berries, flowers, herbs, garden installation.
We're also hiring for an installation specialist, involving edible and ornamental planting, landscape construction, and ecological garden installation. We generally incorporate permaculture and organic farming practices into our approach.
What we’re looking for:
A positive attitude and willingness to work physically in New England weather.
Interest in plants, the work we do, and our mission.
Emotional intelligence and ability to communicate and cooperate with others.
2+ years of relevant experience with gardening, landscaping, or landscape construction.
A valid drivers license so you can drive company trucks.
Ability to work well independently or with others.
Physical and mental fitness; the work is physically challenging.
Ideally within 30 minutes of our base of operations in Lexington, MA.
Pay commensurate with experience, starting at $30/hr or more, monthly $300 health care stipend, paid holidays. Our work is full-time, between late March and early December, or about 8.5-9+ months a year.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
