Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center is a nonprofit, certified organic farm located on over 50 acres of conserved land along the Connecticut River in East Thetford, Vermont. Our organization has a deep commitment to developing regenerative agriculture systems for our annual vegetable and flower production and to offering educational programming that builds connections between our food, ecosystems, and community.
Our farm is a community hub with a farmstand, retail greenhouses, a farm kitchen, a coffee shop, a cut flower garden, education programs, and unique CSA options. It's a place where folks can learn about and deepen their appreciation for organic regenerative agriculture.

Job description
June - November
40 hours per week
The farm kitchen prepares a variety of foods for the farmstand and cafe using our organic produce. We are looking for a person to process a multitude of vegetables as they are harvested. Processing involves cleaning, chopping and preparing vegetables for long and short term storage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning, chopping and prepping vegetables for storage or immediate use
- Pickling vegetables
- Canning vegetables
- Freezing vegetables
- Maintaining inventory of stored vegetables
- Assisting kitchen staff with food preparation tasks as needed
- Ability to work fast and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean workspace
- Communicating with Production Team on harvest schedule on a weekly basis
- Communicating with Production Team on quantity of vegetables available for processing on a weekly basis
QUALIFICATION
Professional kitchen experience is preferred but we will train the right person. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment. Canning and pickling experience is a plus. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable spending a full shift on their feet.
The position is for 5 days per week, including weekend days if necessary.
COMPENSATION
The Vegetable Processor position is full-time and seasonal, from June through November with benefits including paid sick leave, fresh produce, a 20% discount at our farmstand and cafe, access to an employee assistance program, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer safe harbor match. Pay range is $16-17/hr, depending on experience. Ability to work the full season is a plus.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
