Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center is a nonprofit, certified organic farm located on over 50 acres of conserved land along the Connecticut River in East Thetford, Vermont. Our organization has a deep commitment to developing regenerative agriculture systems for our annual vegetable and flower production and to offering educational programming that builds connections between our food, ecosystems, and community.
Our farm is a community hub with a farmstand, retail greenhouses, a farm kitchen, a coffee shop, a cut flower garden, education programs, and unique CSA options. It's a place where folks can learn about and deepen their appreciation for organic regenerative agriculture.

Job description
May - December
40 hours per week
The farm kitchen prepares a variety of foods for the farmstand, Monday Meals Program, and Soup and Dinner CSAs. We are looking for a creative person to prepare a variety of meals primarily from vegetables harvested on the farm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing meals for Cedar Circle Farm farmstand and meal programs
- Prepping, cooking and packaging meals
- Maintaining inventory of prepared meals and ingredients
- Meeting deadlines for food programs
- Maintaining a clean workspace
- Communicating with Kitchen Manager and Kitchen Lead on meal planning
- Communicating with Vegetable Production Team on quantity of vegetables available for use on a weekly basis
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is creative and able to work independently and efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment. Applicant must be able to follow recipes, manage time efficiently and stay on task despite distractions in the kitchen. Applicants must be comfortable asking questions, receptive to constructive criticism and task redirection. Experience preparing food in large quantities from start to finish is a must. Ability to improvise /substitute ingredients with and without recipes. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable spending a full shift on their feet.
The position is for 5 days per week, including weekend days if necessary.
COMPENSATION
The Prepared Foods Assistant position is full-time and seasonal, from May through December, with benefits including paid sick leave, fresh produce, a 20% discount at our farmstand and cafe, access to an employee assistance program, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer safe harbor match. Pay range is $16-17/hr, depending on experience. Ability to work the full season is a plus.
