Mermaid's Garden is a fully sustainable seafood market located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. We feature a premier selection of domestically caught and produced seafood and also a small highly curated selection of pantry items. We have a low-key atmosphere in the shop and some wonderful customers.

Job description

This position has a strong focus on customer service. Other responsibilities include fish butchery, packing orders, re-stocking, and basic day to day shop maintenance. We are a busy fish market with several moving parts so being an efficient worker who can multi task is important.

We are happy to teach fish butchery to anyone with basic knife skills and a positive attitude.

Candidates should have previous retail and/or professional kitchen experience, though we offer extensive educational training.

You MUST have previous experience in one of the following for consideration: fish market/other retail food -restaurant (FOH or BOH) -commercial fishing. Both FT and PT positions are available.
