Olden Organics Farm is a 100 acre Certified Organic Fresh Produce farm located in WI. 2026 is our 22 year farming on this amazing farm that we call home. We have 14 greenhouses were we start our crops from seed as well as plant directly into the soil. We are a year around farm that grows crops 365 days a year. In addition to our farm we also have a vegetable processing facility on site as well. We cut, slice, dice, julienne, and spiralize vegetables for our grocery stores, schools, and restaurants.
Job description
We are looking for a Greenhouse & Production Manager. This position requires you to not only have management experience but also vegetable farming experience. Here are some daily things you would be responsible for:
- Planning of crop production
- Soil-Plant Tissue Testing/Analysis
- Planning Daily Job List for our crews
- Record Keeping
- Managing & Encouraging our crew but also working alongside
- Time & Efficiency Management
- Crop Monitoring
- Farmers Markets
These are the main job tasks. There will be other smaller & periodic tasks such as sampling, organic & food safety inspections, and order management will also be a part of the job requirements. There will also be cross training in other areas of the business both to understand how they all relate and effect each other as well as providing coverage when other managers are on vacation or have personal/sick days. Basic understanding of all tractors and equipment as well as informing farm manager of maintenance and repair needs as they arise. Inspection and reporting of all infrastructure (greenhouses) and remote issues that arise around the farm.
Experience: Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture (or closely related degrees including: Agronomy, BioAg-Engineering, Sustainable Agriculture or an other closely related field) Minimum of two years experience in a production manager or similar role. Experience leading crews of two to ten individuals. Record Keeping, planning, strong verbal and written communication and ability to not only explain but also demonstration of all tasks. Experience in diagnosing and remediating plant health care issues including: (insects, diseases, abiotic issues, nutrient imbalances, and other factors affecting plant health and production.) Experience with production techniques to gain greater efficiencies & increase production. Being bilingual (Spanish/English) not required, but highly desired.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
