Company description
Dak Bar REAL food energy bars offer serious nutrition and exceptional taste with ingredients as close to nature as possible - just completely identifiable food that your body knows what to do with. No isolates, no fillers, no sugar alcohols, or "natural flavor" mystery math. We wear chefs’ coats, not scary lab coats. Our #1 value is our commitment to quality whole food ingredients.
Bonus: all of our products are gluten-free.
Dak Bars are built to support a sustaining ratio of macronutrients with a 40:30:30 balance of carbs, proteins, and fats so they deliver steady energy instead of a quick hit and crash. They are designed to keep you moving and thinking clearly through whatever adventure you're chasing.
Out of deep respect for the Adirondack Mountains, Dak Bar has made a commitment to give back to this special place and its Forever Wild designation with our 1% Wild program. We partner with environmental organizations that conserve and preserve the integrity of the Park’s rugged landscape, so we can help protect the wild places we love to play in.
Take your tastebuds on a journey; every bite is an adventure!
Job description
Join our fast-growing company in making the best tasting whole food snack bar on the market. Be a part of the Dak Bar team as it works toward becoming a nationally recognized brand. We value a relaxed, fun work atmosphere that balances a healthy personal life. If you’ve always been fascinated with the process of producing great food and are committed to supporting our brand’s reputation for excellent snack products, then this is the place for you.
We are looking for a highly reliable person to take the Lead Production role. You will be expected to become proficient at our production system with a high degree of detail, detecting inconsistencies and adjusting, and directing other production workers. Attention to detail is imperative to ensure product quality standards are being met. You will report to the Production Manager, as well as the Founder/CEO and fellow “foodie” who will at times work side-by-side with the lead production person to test flavors, improve quality and efficiencies, or just hustle to get the big orders out the door.
Our facility is located in the beautiful and historic rural town of Essex, New York, with pastoral landscape, rolling hills, and access to unending local farm food from several area CSA farms. Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, you can find boating, hiking, biking, paddling, rock/ice climbing, and cross country skiing opportunities nearby, with the Adirondack Mountains and high peaks adventures 25 minutes to the west. Whiteface Mountain, with its US Olympic Training facilities and top-rated downhill skiing, is a 50 minute drive west. A car ferry across Lake Champlain to Vermont departs right out of Essex for a stunning half hour boat ride to Charlotte, Vermont, and another 20-minute drive gets you to the trendy and lively town of Burlington. An hour drive north will take you to Montreal in Canada for shopping, fabulous food, concerts and so much more. New York City is a 5 hour drive south, with access by train only 15 minutes away. With small-town, quiet living surrounded by nature and so many other great amenities within driving distance, you’ll have the best of both worlds!
