About Courageous Land
Courageous Land’s mission is to reverse climate change while creating health and abundance for all life on Earth. We unlock the potential of agroforestry by reforesting degraded landscapes in ways that optimize carbon removal, food production, and financial returns.
Through our Agroforestry Intelligence Platform, we provide integrated solutions—including proprietary software, financing, technical consulting, and carbon/crop sales—to landowners, corporations, and fund managers globally. Our vision is that any landowner, anywhere in the world, can increase their earnings by transitioning to agroforestry.
We are an award-winning company and a certified B-corp.
The Opportunity
This is more than an internship; it is a strategic on-ramp for a future leader. As we expand from our roots in Brazil into the United States, you will serve as a technical and research leader, and represent the company at meetings and events. Your goal is to help us adapt our proven models to the U.S., and train to become a future Agroforestry Manager responsible for on-the-ground execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Research: Conduct rigorous analysis of perennial tree-crop systems, agroforestry systems, specialists, partners, incentives, programs and more.
Data Synthesis: Organize and analyze technical data to inform our U.S. expansion strategy and "Agroforestry Intelligence" models.
Executive Support: Prepare data-driven briefs and high-quality presentations for the CEO and technical team to support expert calls and investor reviews.
Field Due Diligence: Assist in scouting pilot farms and conducting preliminary field due diligence, including soil/water assessments and site mapping.
Design Collaboration: Work with our Brazil-based technical team to adapt agroforestry designs for U.S. climates and species.
Operational Execution: Participate in the execution of planting and managing agroforestry systems, levering local experts and partners and our agroforestry intelligence software
Ideal Candidate
Technical Foundation: Experience with farming and/or forestry. Current student or recent graduate in Forestry, Agronomy, or Agroecology with a strong understanding of regenerative systems.
High Execution: A voracious learner with a track record of high achievement and a hunger to move from theory to "learning by doing." You must be self-motivated and have a bias for action- a pilot, not a passenger.
Communication: Excellent technical writing and research skills, great at communicating complex information in simple ways.
Versatile: must be comfortable navigating both farm and corporate environments.
Mission-Driven: Deeply passionate about Courageous Land’s mission and making the world a more beautiful place.
Leadership Potential: Strong sense of responsibility and interest in leading field teams and engaging diverse stakeholders (farmers, investors, NGOs).
Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; conversational Portuguese is highly preferred to collaborate with our Brazilian HQ; Spanish is a plus.
