Wild Mountain Seeds is heavily focused on research and seed breeding, creating vegetable seed that is vigorous, adaptable and unique. We are focused on producing the highest quality produce and seed using minimal tillage and permaculture techniques. Our goal is to create a hard working, supportive and FUN work culture on the farm.
Job description
Wild Mountain Seeds is hiring 3 part time crew members to join us for the 2026 growing season. From May 1st-Oct 31st. The farm crew will participate in most aspects of farming and seed production. While prior farm experience is not required, an ability and willingness to labor outside, in all weather conditions is a must. Successful crew members want to learn through working, are willing to try new things, and take initiative to ask questions and get the most out of their experience.
Responsibilities:
Assists with all aspects of Farm Production:
- Bed Preparation, direct seeding and transplanting
- Maintain planted beds: irrigation, weeding, trellising, thinning, pruning
- Help track field observations: plant growth, pests and disease, moisture and other crop needs
- Harvest, wash and pack of produce
- Follow quality, food safety and freshness standards
Teamwork:
- Participate in cooking crew lunch
- Participate in planning and execution of farm community activities
- Contribute to a collaborative, hardworking farm culture
- Communicate respectfully to all coworkers
Customer Service:
- Potential to participate in the farmers market staffing rotation
- Potential to participate in CSA staffing rotation
Seed production:
- Assist with seed harvest, seed cleaning and packing
Introductory Farm Task Management:
- Returning or experienced crew members will have the opportunity to take more leadership over specific production tasks.
Requirements:

- Able to work independently and with teams
- Valid Driver’s License (will drive/operate farm vehicles/equipment)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, to work well in all weather conditions and do physical work for 40-50 hours a week in the high season in all weather conditions.
- Non-tobacco user (we breed tomatoes)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on a production vegetable, flower or seed farm is a plus.
- A desire to continue in a career in agriculture
Work Schedule:
This position is seasonal, 6 months starting April 1st through October 31st.
Standard work week: 3 days a week, Monday- Wednesday or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. 8 hours a day.
Compensation:
Salary range: $18-$23/hour dependent on experience
Crew lunch during work days.
Staff access to farm vegetables.
