Job description
Liberty Farms is seeking a Vegetable Farm Assistant Manager to support our organic vegetable operation and work closely with the Vegetable Farm Manager and farm leadership team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on farm experience who is eager to build skills and take on increasing responsibility. Weekend availability is required.
We are a team-oriented, detail-minded farm that values clear communication, curiosity, and a strong work ethic. This is a hands-on role with mentorship, structure, and room for growth. The Assistant Manager will be supported by established systems, returning farm crew members, and a skilled team that includes experienced H-2A workers.
This is a full-time position starting mid-March through November, with potential for year-round employment. We offer competitive compensation and opportunities for continued learning and professional development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with daily organic vegetable production tasks, including seeding, greenhouse work, transplanting, cultivation, pest and weed management, harvesting, washing, and post-harvest handling
• Support greenhouse, high tunnel, and field production under the guidance of the Vegetable Farm Manager
• Work alongside crew members to help coordinate daily tasks and keep fieldwork running smoothly
• Learn and assist with basic planning, scheduling, and task tracking
• Help maintain simple farm records such as harvest totals and inventory notes
• Assist with ordering supplies and keeping workspaces organized
• Operate farm tools and equipment with training and supervision as needed
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized farm environment
• Occasionally assist with CSA, market, or on-farm tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
• 1–2 years of experience working on a vegetable farm or in agriculture-related work
• Strong interest in organic farming and regenerative practices
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and ask questions
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions & weekend availability required.
• Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Basic familiarity with farm tools and equipment (tractor experience a plus, but not required)

• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Interest in developing leadership and management skills over time
• Spanish language skills a plus, but not required
Compensation $21 per hour
