Hungry Bear Farm is a USDA & Real Organic Project certified vegetable farm starting its 17th growing season. We are located in the beautiful eastern Monadnock region of NH where we steward 12 acres of NRCS designated soils of importance. Our propagation tunnel, high tunnels and fertile fields allow us to grow for the Monadnock region across three seasons. Most of what we grow is sold to our seasonal CSA that runs from May into October. We also partner with the Monadnock Farm Share Program which provides people in need with discounted CSA shares.

Job description

We are looking for both full and part time help during the main parts of our season which begins in late March and runs into November. No specific hours are required as we allow our help to set their own schedule and expect that they will follow through with that schedule they set. Ideally, candidates will have 2+ years of farming or equivalent experience. However, we may be willing to accept lesser experienced individuals if we feel they might be a good fit.

Responsibilities:

Weeding, transplanting, harvesting, watering, mowing, raking, spreading mulch and compost, plot and bed preparation and teardown, cover cropping, pest management and various other tasks like helping out on CSA pickup day.

You must provide your own transportation to and from our farm, as public transportation is not available.

We work in all kinds of weather so appropriate dress is required.

Many of the tasks can be repetitive over long periods of time.
