Job description
This role is for a seasoned specialty food sales professional who understands how artisan brands grow—through relationships, storytelling, smart distribution, and disciplined execution.
What You’ll Do
- Open and develop new accounts within specialty, gourmet, and natural retail channels
- Deepen existing relationships to expand distribution, shelf presence, and velocity
- Confidently present Effie’s products, positioning, and brand story to specialty buyers
- Partner with distributors to drive placement, promotions, and sustainable growth
- Analyze sales performance, account data, and market trends to prioritize opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, pricing, promotions, and new product launches
- Represent Effie’s at specialty food trade shows, buyer meetings, and industry events
What We’re Looking For
- 8–10+ years of sales experience specifically in specialty food (artisan, gourmet, natural, premium)
- Proven success selling into independent stores, specialty chains, distributors, and internet retailers
- Deep understanding of the specialty food sales cycle—from onboarding to long-term account growth
- Strong buyer relationships built on trust, credibility, and brand alignment
- Ability to sell value, quality, and story—not just price or scale
- Comfort working with sales data, KPIs, and CRM tools to guide strategy
- Clear, compelling communicator and skilled negotiator
Self-directed, organized, and comfortable in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%

Note: This role is best suited for candidates with a background in specialty, artisan, or premium food brands. Experience focused primarily on mass-market, commodity CPG, or b2b services will not be a fit for this position.
