Seminary Hill Farm sits on a sizable portion of that land, covering open fields, hoop houses and greenhouse that extend the growing season. Seminary Hill Farm provides produce for campus meals, people in need, and our Community Supported Agriculture program.
Job description
We are seeking a chef with the understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of locally sourced and sustainable food service able to coordinate with Seminary Hill Farm (10-acre sustainable market farm located on campus) to obtain vegetables for immediate use in our dining hall and storing for winter. Must have the ability to lead a small kitchen tasked with providing lunches twice weekly to the MTSO community as well as catering for special events including multi-day conferences. Experience with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free cooking and knowledge of diverse cuisines preferred. Culinary degree or classical training and at least three year's experience. Food safety certification required. Salaried, average of 35 hours per week (generally 8 to 3). Occasional weekends and evenings. 37 paid days off (20 days' vacation, 17 holidays) per year. Medical, dental, and vision coverage available. Employer 403(b) contribution.
Compensation
