Our literary inspired products range from "the classics" (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry) to playful flavors like Wilbur's Blue Ribbon, a cotton candy base webbed with white chocolate in a nod to Charlotte's Web. Fabled was established in 2025 and is expanding into pints this summer around Old Town, Alexandria.

Production Assistant + Market Manager
Fabled Ice Cream
Part-Time | Seasonal (with potential to grow) | DMV Area
Fabled Ice Cream is looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Assistant + Market Manager to help us craft exceptional small-batch ice cream and represent the brand at local farmers markets.
This role blends food production, operational precision, and community-facing sales. You’ll work directly with the owner to produce, package, and sell literary-inspired ice cream - ensuring everything we make is safe, consistent, and joyful.
Key Responsibilities:
Production + Kitchen Operations
Assist with all aspects of small-batch ice cream production
Work alongside the owner in recipe preparation, pint filling, and labeling
Follow recipes and production systems with precision
Maintain proper temperature control and ensure all products are kept cold and food-safe
Wash dishes and sanitize equipment
Maintain clean, organized workstations at all times
Uphold all food safety standards and best practices
Required: Current food safety certification
Farmers Market + Event Management
Assist with opening and closing at farmers markets
Set up and break down tent, tables, freezers, signage, and display materials
Ensure product is merchandised attractively and safely
Monitor freezer temperatures during market hours
Handle transactions and manage sales tracking
Provide warm, friendly, knowledgeable customer service
Confidently talk about flavors, ingredients, and the Fabled Ice Cream story
This role requires comfort lifting and transporting freezers, coolers, and equipment.

Highly organized and systems-minded
Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment
Energized by both behind-the-scenes production and customer interaction
Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
Friendly, outgoing, and confident speaking with customers
Able to lift 40–50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Excited about small business growth and being part of something entrepreneurial
