We sell Marshview fresh produce, eggs and meats that are naturally produced using regenerative farming techniques. We showcase as many local vendors of produce, meats, dairy, and dry goods as possible. We are locally owned and community driven!
Job description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The store manager is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer experience, and driving sales performance. This role manages staff, inventory, and merchandising, while maintaining the store’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and community engagement. The store manager must genuinely like interacting with people – customers, vendors, owners, families, seniors, young children.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Store Management
- Oversee day-today store operations, including opening/closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked store.
- Ensure all products are properly displayed, priced, labeled, and rotated.
- Monitor store performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Cultivate a strong working relationship with the owners, and office staff members.
- Sit in on weekly/monthly owners meetings and present reports.
- Make bank deposits when necessary and work closely with our accountant.
Staff Management
- Hire, train, and supervise store employees.
- Manage staff schedules.
- Foster a positive, accountable, integrity-based team culture.
- Handle employee issues, coaching, and performance management.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Manage inventory levels across retail, grocery, and prepared foods.
- Place orders with vendors and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Input all inventory into POS system.
- Follow and maintain receiving procedures.
- Track product performance and adjust ordering based on sales trends.
- Minimize waste, especially in perishables.
Sales & Merchandising
- Maintain appealing, seasonal and well organized displays.
- Introduce new products aligned with customer demands and store identity.
- Monitor sales data and identify opportunities for growth.
- Drive and support promotions, events, and in-store marketing.
Customer Experience
- Ensure excellent, friendly customer service at all times.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
- Build relationships with regular customers and the local community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of retail or food service/hospitality management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience with inventory systems and ordering.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast or similar)/
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented and an out-of-the-box mentality.
PRERERED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a farm store, specialty shop, or small business setting.
- Understanding of community building and local product sourcing.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
