Job description
As we grow, we are looking for one highly organized individual to assist with Business Operations functions including payroll, bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounts payable, systems management, inter-company business functions, and financial modeling, analysis, & planning.
The right individual could be an early career prospective business operations professional looking for the opportunity to learn & grow, a career change candidate, or a later career Accountant or business operations professional. An interest or passion in sustainable business is a must.
In this role you'll help grow a small business with big aspirations, and along the way work with professional teams at some of the city's top developers: Beatty Development, Johns Hopkins, and Hotel Ulysses. You'll interface with organizations like the USDA and Steward, and work with small farmers and chefs across the region.
Responsibilities:
• Execute daily, monthly, and annual bookkeeping functions according to established practices.
• Process payroll for various business entities with accuracy and care.
• Ensure HRIS is up to date, assisting with compliance, onboarding, and documentation of employee data.
• Assist with maintenance of systems including POSs across locations, company operations software, and company record-keeping.
• Assist with employee benefit administration.
• Assist with maintenance of company insurances, permits, licenses, and routine inspections.
• Manage daily tasks in workflow software, including maintaining an ongoing dialogue about business functions with Aazam.
• Generate weekly financial reporting for managers, executive leaders, ownership, and investors for each business according to established standards.
• Generate and maintain financial modeling, reporting, and budgeting for various projects, including working with some of Baltimore's top developers and national leaders in regenerative agriculture financing, along with the US Department of Agriculture.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Some restaurant/food & beverage experience
• Accounting, HR, or Business Administration degree or equivalent experience
• Quickbooks fluency
• Experience with payroll functions
• Tip pooling experience
• Understanding of FP&A
• Experience creating and maintaining budgets

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $60,000.00 - $70,000.00
