Company description
We are a certified organic vegetable and berry farm and tree nursery. Our primary crops are berries, storage vegetables, nursery trees, and someday tree fruits and nuts from our growing orchard.
Most of our produce is sold wholesale to other farms for their CSAs or farm stands, as well as to food pantries and free fridges through food access programs. We also offer pick your own berries during June and July.
Nursery stock is sold wholesale as well as retail during our spring and fall plant sales, which include trees and hard-to find medicinal herbs.
We are a small family farm with a small full season crew.
Job description
Seeking a motivated individual to join our small farm team as a field crew member.
Participate in all aspects of vegetable and berry production, with some tree nursery and orchard work as well.
Required:
-Caring about food justice/access
-Works well with others
-A sense of humor and positive attitude
-Able to take direction well, while also exercising critical thinking and problem solving skills
-Must be good at self-motivation and able to wok independently
-Physically fit, able to do crouching/bending over tasks like hand weeding and strawberry harvesting for extended periods
-Able to work in all types of weather including heat/rain/cold.
-Good communication skills
-At least 1 full season of vegetable farming experience.
Desired:
-Some tractor experience, able to use a front end loader
-Comfort with small engine operation, including weed whackers, mowers, tillers etc.
-Ability to do small construction projects
-Experience with berries
-Experience with tree planting
-Mechanical ability
-Grafting (fruit trees)
Schedule is 2 days/week, 18 hours. We can potentially offer additional hours for the right candidate.
Pay is $20/hour.
