Stone's Throw Farm is located less than 100 yards from the ocean and on the shore of Sagg Pond, in Sagaponack, NY.
The farm produces, under organic guidelines, a wide variety of vegetables, an expanding cut flowers program, asparagus, berries and foul.
We have a flock of about 40 chickens and 15 ducks and geese for egg production.
STF runs a 30 member CSA program, sells at the Sag harbor farmer's market and to a few local restaurant accounts along with florists and floral designers.
general duties will include transplanting, harvesting produce, berries and flowers, washing and packing farm produce, landscaping and more.
Requirements:
- A positive attitude, good spirit and a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to work efficiently independently and cooperatively as a member of a small team
- Attentive to detail and passionate about maintaining order, cleanliness and overall beauty of the farm
- One season farming experience or comparable physical outdoor experience preferred
Work schedule
- Position duration: mid May-mid September (flexible), though must commit to minimum 6 weeks
- Minimum 3-4 days a week
- 8 hour shift
- weekends as needed

Job description
General duties will include a wide range of field tasks related to vegetables, berry and flower production. Work will involve transplanting seedling, hand weeding and hoeing, maintaining crops, harvesting vegetables, berries and flowers at proper stage.
Additional responsibilities include washing, sorting and packing produce for CSA shares, farmers market, farm and roadside stand.
The position may also involve general farm maintenance tasks such as landscaping, bed preparation, moving materials, cleaning and organizing work areas and supporting overall farm operations as needed.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $19.00 - $22.00
