Mermaid's Garden is a sustainable seafood market located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. We feature a premier selection of domestically caught and produced seafood and a small highly curated selection of pantry items. We have a low-key atmosphere in the shop and some wonderful customers.

Job description

This position has a strong focus on customer service. Other responsibilities include fish butchery, packing orders, re-stocking, and basic day to day shop maintenance. We are a busy fish market with several moving parts so being an efficient worker who can multi-task is important.

We are happy to teach fish butchery to anyone with basic knife skills and a positive attitude.

Candidates should have previous retail and/or professional kitchen experience, though we offer extensive educational training.

You MUST have previous experience in one of the following for consideration: fish market/other retail food -restaurant (FOH or BOH) -commercial fishing. PT positions are available.
