Job description
We’re seeking an operationally-driven coordinator to support our community’s right to healthy, culturally appropriate, food produced sustainably. They’ll work with their manager to execute the maintenance and expansion of our internal and external community food procurement and distribution programs, with a focus on community grocery and meal programs. They’ll ensure the safe distribution of high-quality, nutritious food and apply best practices in food safety, health, and nutrition and a participant-centered approach. They’re responsible for the timely and accurate collection, reporting, and filing of all program data both client-focused and operations-focused such as outreach, applications, intakes service logs, and program evaluations for quality.
Service & Food Supply Operations Support
-Support in the daily operations of all food programs and events with a specific focus on ensuring successful service delivery at all community grocery and meal sites.
-Follow and implement all SOPs and policies regarding inventory management, ordering, distribution, volunteer coordination, and food safety.
-Provide consistent communication and feedback on actionable improvements and changes to the operational and administrative systems of the Food to Freedom Program.
-Strong customer service experience skills to manage client needs, complaints or issues expediently, provide follow-up staff training, and implement needed system/process improvements.
-Maintain all processes regarding distribution in accordance with health and safety regulations. Prioritize zero-waste practices.
-Support in all operational needs for the BTWCSC signature holidays, events and additional food programs such as November and December holidays, Black History Month, Juneteenth etc.
-Provide excellent customer service and hospitality practices, resolving participant concerns quickly and professionally.
-Provide support for the Food Operations team including, but not limited to tasks regarding food supply, distribution, storage, disposal, and facility maintenance.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
-Collect, record, and maintain all client & site-based service touchpoint data into both internal and external database systems (paper and digital formats) in an organized, accurate, and timely manner. Responsible for all client and participant enrollments, service touch points, and disenrollment.
-Track/provide actionable insights into the program and community trends based on verifiable quantitative and qualitative information gathered before, during, and after service operations.
-Implement evaluation activities approved by the Food Operations Manager and Food Engagement & Education Manager which measure the impact of food distribution on family stability, health, and food security.
-Coordinate and collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting workflows.
-Contribute to identifying and implementing actionable systems solutions through operation protocol/tools related to equitable food access.
Program & Community Outreach
-Support the launch and continued service of new community grocery and meal sites under the guidance of the Food Engagement & Education Manager.
-Support the team with targeted outreach of prospective participants in both internal and external programming at all existing sites.
-Implement/execute all administrative and communication tasks for client intakes, participant applications, eligibility assessments, program acceptance and on-boarding.
-Support and facilitate food justice education opportunities to staff and client/participant community under the direction of the Food Engagement & Education Manager.
-Under the guidance from the Manager, coordinate with program teams/partners on community education opportunities: farm visits and tours, healthy grocery store tours, community dinners, Family Harvest/U-Pick Days, lesson plans, reading material etc.
-Assist the Food Engagement & Education Manager in developing and integrating educational materials into existing food distribution programs, including the Friday Markets, CSAs, meal distribution and delivery, and off-site grocery distribution.
Qualifications
-3+ years of experience in food, agricultural production, restaurant, grocery retail or hospitality experience in a fast-paced setting, preferably in an operations position.
-HS diploma or equivalent is required.
-Experience in direct service/client management is preferred
-Relevant experience in food operations: receiving, inventory management, safe food practices/compliance.
-Reliable, punctual, adaptable
-Demonstrated ability to complete administrative work in a timely, accurate, and organized manner.
-Demonstrated experience with the outreach and engagement of diverse populations with racially and culturally-responsive services and programs
-Lived experience with Black/African-American communities and/or communities of color and/or navigating housing insecurity and/or the justice system highly preferred.
-Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of folks
-Demonstrates professionalism, socioemotional intelligence, and integrity.
-Excellent verbal, writing, and comprehension skills.

Schedule
M-F, 9am-6pm, some nights/weekends

Full-time exempt with a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000
