Job description
Seeking an operationally-driven coordinator to support community’s right to healthy, culturally appropriate, food produced sustainably. They’ll work with the Operations Manager to execute the operational requirements for robust community food procurement and distribution programs, including daily community meals, CSA boxes and weekly fresh markets. They’ll ensure the safe distribution of high-quality, nutritious food and apply best practices in food safety, health, and nutrition and a participant-centered approach. They will be responsible for the timely and accurate collection, reporting, and filing of all program data both client-focused and operations-focused such as enrollments, service logs, and program evaluations for quality.
Service & Food Supply Operations
- Execute the daily operations of all food programs and events under supervision of the Manager and in coordination with the Liaisons
- Follow and implement all SOPs/policies regarding inventory management, ordering, distribution, volunteer coordination, and food safety.
- Provide consistent communication and feedback on actionable improvements and changes to the operational and administrative systems
- Leverage strong customer service experience skills to manage client needs/issues expediently, provide follow-up staff training, and implement improvements
- Coordinate food receiving, distribution, and food rescue schedules
- Support and maintain all processes regarding food supply (receiving, storage, rotation, and distribution) in accordance with health and safety regulations. Prioritize zero-waste practices.
- Regular inventory checks ensuring compliance with expiration dates, storage standards, and sanitation
- Follow procedures to ensure facility readiness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with state/local health codes
-Support menu planning/culturally relevant food programming in partnership with mission-aligned chefs
- Work across teams to maintain food-safe and clean operations
- As directed, provide cross-trained support for teams (outreach, intakes, evaluation, and education support)
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Collect, record, and maintain all client-based and site-based service touchpoint data into both internal and external database systems (paper and digital formats) in an organized, accurate, and timely manner. Responsible for all client and participant enrollments, service touchpoints, and disenrollment.
- Track and provide actionable insights into the Food to Freedom program and community trends based on verifiable quantitative and qualitative information gathered before, during, and after service operations.
- Implement evaluation activities approved by the Manager which measure the impact of food distribution on family stability, health, and food security.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Food Operations Manager, Food Engagement & Education Manager and Data Operations team members to ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting workflows.
- Contribute to identifying and implementing actionable systems solutions through operation protocols or tools related to equitable food access.
Qualifications
-3+ years of experience in food, agricultural production, restaurant, grocery retail or hospitality experience in a fast-paced setting, preferably in an operations position.
-HS diploma or equivalent is required.
-Experience in direct service/client management is preferred
-Relevant experience in food operations: receiving, inventory management, safe food practices/compliance.
-Reliable, punctual, adaptable
-Demonstrated ability to complete administrative work in a timely, accurate, and organized manner.
-Demonstrated experience with the outreach and engagement of diverse populations with racially and culturally-responsive services and programs
-Lived experience with Black/African-American communities and/or communities of color and/or navigating housing insecurity and/or the justice system highly preferred.
-Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of folks
-Demonstrates professionalism, socioemotional intelligence, and integrity.
-Excellent verbal, writing, and comprehension skills.

Schedule
M-F, 9am-6pm, some nights/weekends
Competitive compensation with PTO/holidays, generous health/retirement benefits. Full-time exempt with a salary range of $70,000 to $75,000
