Scratch Made gives families in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia convenient access to fully prepared meals made with the region’s best ingredients. Our weekly menus are built around produce availability lists and include classic dishes, regional favorites and other things we like to cook. All meals are portioned in compostable containers and delivered to homes and offices along with reheating instructions. No subscription is required.
Our aim is to provide for customers a restaurant quality meal at home, complete with personal and considerate service. All of our dishes begin with whole ingredients sourced directly from growers and we don’t rely on convenience items like peeled garlic, canned vegetables (besides tomatoes in fall and winter) or pre-made marinades/sauces.
In addition to our heat-to-eat meals, customers can add grocery items like fresh pressed juices, smoked/cured meats, breakfast items, eggs, and our freshly baked focaccia.
Job description
Your focus will be to uphold and improve upon our established standards, while working with our small team to ensure prep runs in an efficient and organized manner. This is to include menu development, recipe consult, team member training and the full scope of dish prep; from start to finish. Kitchen responsibilities include but are not limited to meat and vegetable prep, recipe execution and plating completed dishes.
This role is an opportunity to learn, teach and grow in an environment where health, cleanliness and professionalism are foundational aspects of the business. Ideal candidates have kitchen experience, preferably working within a leadership role. Additionally, thriving within this role requires personal initiative, flexibility, humility and a commitment to excellence.
Finally, the lead is expected to work Sunday through Wednesday and Friday. Shifts generally begin at 9 am and conclude by 6 p.m. Our cooks enjoy Thursdays and Saturdays off and our production kitchen is located in the Govans neighborhood of Baltimore City.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
