Job description
About the position: Agricultural Connections is seeking a like-minded individual who believes in its mission of improving access to locally grown, raised, and produced goods for Central Oregonians through a year-round online farmer’s market and delivery service. This role is based in our small Bend warehouse, and consists of picking, packing, and quality-checking products; taking care of our space and equipment; and driving our delivery van around Central Oregon, including loading/unloading deliveries. Additional projects may be a part of the role depending on need, interest, and the skills you bring and/or are looking to develop.

Core Responsibilities:
- Expected shift times are roughly 9am - 3pm Tuesday, 6am - 3pm Wednesday, 6am-3pm Thursday. (Some flexibility may be possible, especially for the Tuesday hours.)
- Punctuality - must be on time to ensure prompt deliveries
- Manage and execute the delivery of one route weekly (Thursday)
- Provide excellent customer service through attentive and courteous deliveries
- Promptly communicate with the team/customer about any issues that arise
- Perform general warehouse duties including but not limited to: (Tuesday/Wednesday)
- Print weekly order and sticker sheets
- Prep and organize for weekly packing process
- Support production line packing of CSA-style boxes
- Pick, pack, and double-check grocery and wholesale orders
- Maintain and ensure quality standards of all products is met
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness in line with SOPs
- Maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicle in line with SOPs
- Assist with inventory and product management
- Assist with producer interactions
- Assist with customer service as needed: including supporting warehouse pickup when needed
- Organize walk-in and pallet space
Qualifications / Skills:
- Service industry and/or farm experience is helpful but not required
- Previous experience in a physically demanding position is helpful but not required
- Attention to detail - delivery routes and order packing can often be repetitive and it’s imperative to mind the small details that often differentiate between two orders. Routes often consist of 20+ stops per route
- Ability to self manage and take initiative
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs multiple times throughout shift–loading and unloading of delivery vans are done by hand with the assistance of a hand truck–must be comfortable with repetitive lifting
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time upwards of ~9 hours at a time
- Must have a valid Oregon State Driver’s License and history of safe driving(a CDL is not required). A driving record report will be pulled before hiring is finalized.
- Complete 2 shifts of paid working interview to get a clear sense of the scope of delivery and warehouse work (one day of each) - it’s important to us that you understand how our work feels for you!
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting rate is $20/hr
- Regular schedule Tuesday - Thursday. Shifts regularly start at 6am.
- This is a salaried, part-time, non-exempt position. We believe this gives greater stability and consistency to everyone involved, and take seriously that weekly hours should always be averaging out to 24 hours. If you are more comfortable being paid on an hourly basis, that can be discussed. We run payroll every two weeks.
- Employees receive a weekly full harvest box (valued at $42) plus wholesale pricing on any additional items purchased from online marketplace.
- We value rest, recovery, and time away from work. We do not have a hard cap on paid time off or sick time. We all cover for each other when vacations, illnesses, and injuries arise, so whenever possible, time off must be negotiated with the full team.
