Company description
Replenova Farm is an organic mixed vegetable farm with a year-round farm market (open Tues-Sat) featuring selected bake goods, sandwiches, soups, salads, take-home dinners, and prepared foods. In addition, we work with over 50 local farms and food artisans to sell their products in our market. The Market is small but has two commercial kitchens, three ovens, and other appliances, all electric and powered 100% by solar panels mounted on our barn. All of the farm and local foods resold are local.
Job description
An ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation, making soups, sandwiches, and salads. We are looking for someone to work 25-30 hrs. per week and occasional Saturdays. This is a great opportunity to contribute feeding the people of Durham and the surrounding areas, who are most of our customers. We are all about contributing to feeding ourselves locally using local fresh and seasonal ingredients and promoting and contribute to our local food system. The ideal candidate possesses good organizational skills, has a passion for sustainable agriculture and local produce, and creates local foods.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily food operations of the farm market, including opening and closing procedures, and cash handling with the owner.
2. Train market staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about take-home dinners, soups, and salads, and how to prepare chef created sandwiches and salads.
3. Will be interacting with customers and with the POS system when working alone or with market associates when necessary.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality produce and, when possible, local products.
5. Contribute to marketing of the farm food products by working with staff to promote the farm market through social media, and community interactions during farm events
6. Monitor and manage food inventory levels, which include food materials purchasing and prepared food outputs.
7. Create visually appealing and delicious take-out dinners using farm seasonal and produce and strictly local ingredients.
8. Collaborate with farm management to be informed of farm harvest schedules and coordinate the availability of produce for the market.
9. Comply with local regulations, health codes, and food safety standards.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
