Job Description:
Providence Farm Collective seeks a self-motivated and highly organized Food Distribution Assistant to support the Markets & Aggregation Manager in operating PFC’s packing and distribution of produce and other food items, with the ultimate goal of helping PFC carry out its responsibilities to clients of the 1115 Waiver Program. The Food Distribution Assistant, reporting directly to the Markets & Aggregation Manager, is a full-time, year round position.
Packaging of Produce:
Responsible for aggregating, organizing, and packing food boxes and wholesale orders
Maintain inventory of food box items and communicate with Markets & Aggregation Manager on needs
When needed, procure items for 1115 Waiver Program boxes and meals
Maintain orderly and clean staging and packing area for food boxes
Support recordkeeping for 1115 Waiver Program
Food Box and Wholesale Produce Deliveries:
Responsible for prompt, safe, and professional delivery of food boxes to clients of the 1115 Waiver Program and wholesale accounts
Responsible for daily loading and unloading of produce orders
Responsible for keeping the delivery truck clean and organized at all times
Aggregation and Farm Support:
Clean, sanitize, and organize the barn’s wholesale account cold storage units regularly
Perform regular and rigorous quality checks and inventory on products sold by farmers to PFC
Clean, sanitize, and organize produce delivery bins for markets
Assist in the aggregation of produce from PFC farmers for wholesale distribution, farm store, and CSA program
Support recordkeeping for markets, including records of sales, invoices, and farmer payments
Clean, sanitize, and organize the barn’s food aggregation hub wash and pack area regularly
When needed, operate the PFC Farm Store including stocking inventory, operating the cash register, interfacing with and assisting customers, and other duties as needed
Potential to support at the PFC International Farmers Market
Support with other farm needs, such as field work, when needed
Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
Commitment to the mission and values of Providence Farm Collective
Professional in all interactions, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service
Hardworking, organized, and self-motivated
Excellent communicator
Multilingual with fluency in Burmese, Karenni, and/or Swahili preferred
Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Suite
Ability to work well independently, without direct supervision, and also as a team member
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work on a daily basis
Experience with marketing and businesses in the agriculture and food industry preferred
Ability to drive the delivery truck and navigate diverse driving landscapes
Driver's license and clean driving record required to fulfill job duties,
Term and Hours:
This is a full time, year-round position. The hourly pay is $22-24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Weekends and evenings are part of the weekly schedule. The expected start date for the Food Distribution Assistant is April 13, 2026.
