Brazen Baking, established 2015, is a small commercial bakery in Rockport. We specialize in creating wholesome, naturally leavened (aka sourdough) breads, crackers and other treats using Maine Grown and organic grains. Our mission is to balance flavor, nutrition, and keeping quality to deliver consistent products at fair value prices. We sell to stores, restaurants and caterers year round and direct to customers at two farmers' markets through the growing season.

Job description

We are hiring a hard-working individual to assist in all aspects of a busy, production bakery. Duties include bread, cracker and pastry production, packaging and order fulfillment, clean up, some deliveries, and help marketing at farmers markets.

The ideal candidate is passionate about seasonal food with an interest in whole grains, naturally leavened breads, fermentation and our local food community.

Food service experience is preferred, but not essential. Enthusiasm, positive attitude, and willingness to work hard is imperative.
This job requires safety awareness, some heavy lifting, repetitive movements and multiple hours on your feet.
The bake room gets HOT but a cool dip in the harbor is just a 3 minute drive away.

Position hours are flexible, totaling 20-40 hours per week.
Farmers markets start in early May. Demand peaks in July and August.

Potential for continuing, year-round position and long term employment.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $17.00 - $22.00
